I, Victor R Gabris (Vic), feel that the majority of drivers, after driving for 3-5 years, want to purchase their own truck. “That was me, I did everything I had to, to get my first truck!” In 1981, not having an established credit line, I sold my 1974 Ford van, used a credit card to finance the rest, and purchased my own truck, a 1974 Freightliner cabover. In 1988, I was able to purchace my second truck, a 1988 Freightliner Conventional.

I have spent over 30 years gaining knowledge and experience in the trucking industry; first as a company driver, then as an owner operator. In recent years, I have taught the basic skills of being a semi-truck driver to hundreds of new drivers through the Schneider Driving Academy located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Over these years, I've remembered how hard it was for me to purchase my first truck. I feel it shouldn't be that way for drivers who want to run their own truck and begin their own business. I believe in the driver and wanted to find a way for them to easily transition to becoming an owner operator. RNT-A-PWR, LLC was incorporated in June of 2004. In January of 2007, we placed the first driver in his own truck.

Our program is designed for a person to rent-to-own a tractor over a period of time. We ask for a small down payment which is applied to the final cost of the truck and the payments are made weekly for the term of the contract, which may be 2-3 years. There is NO balloon payment in the end! Drivers may make additional payments, if they desire, and this also goes to the total cost of the unit. This will result in the shortening of the contract and the truck would be paid off quicker.

We work with our clients to find out their wants and needs to match the best truck to them. We want the drivers to be satisfied and proud of their trucks. We are able to provide extended warranties and depending on the drivers needs, are able to add bobtail and physical insurance for additional cost. These are just a few of the options we provide to our clients.
